Brecon’s modern apprentices are honoured
The Head of Skills Development at Welsh Assembly Government, Teresa Holdsworth, visited Hay-on-Wye recently to present training awards to eight employees from leading pharmaceutical outsource services provider, Brecon Pharmaceuticals.
Teresa Holdsworth attended the ceremony which was held at the Swan Hotel in Hay-on-Wye, and presented certificates to the employees who had all successfully completed various National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) elements within the Modern Apprenticeship Framework Certificate in Management.
Brecon Pharmaceuticals has a strong commitment to the ongoing training of all its employees, and the company is an approved centre for the delivery, assessment and certification of NVQ Qualifications in many disciplines.
Brecon’s Training and Standards Development Manager Des Preece said, “Brecon is committed to the development of its people. The Company Management Development program is designed to develop leaders to meet the challenges of change with the need to compete in a global market. The support of the Welsh Assembly Government Modern Apprenticeship scheme with the provision of training seminars and assessment through Myrick Training is invaluable. All the candidates have achieved very worthwhile qualifications and we are very proud of them all.”
During the presentation Teresa Holdsworth said, “In today’s environment it seems the only constant is change. Leadership is an essential facet and driver of change and it is commendable that Brecon Pharmaceuticals fully accepts this concept. Through a systematic training program the company develops their managers/leaders for the future. The Modern Apprenticeship scheme supports this proactive approach of building requisite skills and knowledge to compete in the global market”.
